Spring in Central Park
I wasn’t the first to come up with this adventure, but it’s worth sharing. Central Park is a sanctuary for New Yorkers. However the south end of the park, especially on a beautiful day, can be an crowded, hectic place. Further north, one encounters less tourists and more locals. There also are a lot less food vendors in the upper half of the park, so carry in is essential. Instagram offered a list of best food options by neighborhoods surrounding the park. For the Upper West Side, the recommendation was Saiguette at 106th and Columbus. Saiguette is a Vietnamese marvel of bahn mi, bao and other delicacies. The shop is only a storefront and it’s best to order ahead off the website for quick service. The hours are limited: noon to 8:30 pm.
