A Few Cool Refuges in NYC
The weather has been tough this July, but a few outings made the temperature more bearable. Here’s a few ideas to keep you cool and enriched.
Have a breakfast at Cafe King in Soho. The famed King restaurant has opened the bar area for continental breakfast through the end of August. Treats and small touches like fresh cherries and flowers may make you doubt you are in the city. Open 8 - 11 am Tuesday through Saturday.
Visit Printemps, the newly opened French department store in the financial district. With several restaurantants and bars tucked into beautiful displays of clothes. Printemps is quite the shopping experience. There is just enough whimsy to give it la chaleur.
Check out the last few days of Summer in the City at Lincoln Center, which runs through August 9th. Enjoy outdoor performances and silent disco under the giant disco ball in the main plaza.
Go see the Irish Repetory production of The Weir, through the end of August.
